The product also helps you prepare you for the UK practical Driving Test with a comprehensive learn to drive programme and detailed description of the Official marking system used.
This package covers everything you need to know and do to pass the UK Theory and practical Driving Tests ISBN 095290358X. The disks that make up this product are also used in the LDC Driving Test 3-in-1 product.
A special multiple user server based version of this product is also available for schools, colleges and other adult learning centres.
The Driving Instructors Association (the largest in the UK) reviewed several of the top CD-rom/DVD products for hazard perception in its magazine for driving instructors and the LDC Theory Test CD-rom product came out on top. The final verdict was and I quote:
“In terms of which is the best product to use as a training aid for hazard perception testing, there's really very little contest. The LDC package is definitely the best of the bunch; partly because it has so many practice clips, but also because it offers some excellent advice on taking the test and over the thorny business of what constitutes a developing hazard (their explanation is certainly streets ahead of the DSA's.)..... this is by far the best hazard perception training product available.”
You can now also buy the LDC Theory Test product with the Hazard Perception eXtra product which gives you an additional 3 disks (i.e. making 6 disks in total) with 12 additional unique Hazard Perception Tests and 17 extra practice clips (i.e. an extra 185 Hazard Perception video clips). When you add this to the standard product containing 165 clips that gives you a staggering 350 unique Hazard Perception Test simulation video clips for you to practice on (i.e. 22 unique properly balanced Hazard Perception Test simulations). No other product can even come near to offering this quantity and quality of clips. In addition the Hazard Perception eXtra product also provides some exciting new features including a more in depth appreciation of the Hazard Perception Test and how to develop Hazard Perception and Defensive Driving skills for real.

The Ultimate theory test training resource for car drivers and motorbike riders. Nothing can match the effectiveness of the LDC Theory Test CD-Rom. Designed by expert driver trainers to ensure you make maximum progress and give yourself the best possible chance of passing the theory test first time. Read on and find out why it is truly the best product in the market place.

There are three learning programmes that you can follow to help you learn the answers to each of the official multiple-choice questions for car drivers that may occur on this part of the test. Each programme covers all the official questions in a different way. One programme is designed to be used in conjunction with studying the Highway Code, one to follow the standard theory categories of the DSA and one to tie in with the early stages of your practical driving tuition (i.e. the Learner Driving programme).
You can choose to follow one programme all the way through or switch between programmes as you feel fit. Because the progress of each official question is held separately to the programme the computer will ensure you won’t need to answer the same question twice. For each question you will see a traffic light. Green means you have answered the question correctly, red means you answered the question incorrectly and amber means you have not yet attempted the question. To ensure you don’t re-answer correctly answered questions just click the “skip correct questions” button. To have the question or answers read out to you simply click on the text. This is a common feature throughout the product.
The CD-ROM also includes a learning programme for motorbike riders containing the official motorbike questions with hints supplied from “Motorcycle Riders the essential skills”.

If you undertake the quizzes on the PC using anyone of the three learning programmes provided your progress will be carefully monitored and recorded automatically by the program so that you can determine when you are ready to move onto the final stage of preparation – the Multiple Choice Mock Tests.
Multiple Choice Learning programme 1 – Highway Code
The Official theory test questions can be presented to you in the same order as the answers can be found in the Highway Code. In this way as you read through the Highway Code you can test yourself after any given section. We have decided to break this study down into 12 sections each containing about 70 questions. Therefore before you answer the questions in the first quiz you read the appropriate Highway Code rules or pages that relate to that quiz and so on until you have completed all 12 sections.

However, because about 12% of the official theory test questions can not be answered by the Highway Code you will need to read the supplementary study notes to complete the last section of this learning programme (i.e. quiz 12). The Highway Code and the supplementary notes are provided on the CD in a web page format. This information is also contained in the Theory Test Highway Code workbook.

Multiple Choice Learning programme 2 – DSA Categories
In this programme the questions are presented to you by DSA Category. This programme is available to go through all the official questions for car drivers or the official questions for motorbike riders. The DSA have grouped similar types of questions into 14 categories. This structure does not specifically relate to the order in which you would learn to drive or indeed the rules of the Highway Code therefore there is no specific pre-study requirement if you use this programme.
However, as with the other learning programmes, you can use the hint pop up screen while answering any question to obtain advice and/or access to the Digital Highway Code Plus section of the Key Information Browser (i.e. the electronic web page version of the Highway code, the Learner Driving program lesson briefs, the advice on the theory and driving tests, and the supplementary notes etc.). References and quotes are also available from the book entitled “Motorcycle riding - the essential skills.” Again as with the questions and answers you can click on the text in the hint pop up screen to have the Highway Code rule etc read out to you by a professional voice over artist.
![new-dsa-combi-new02[1] new-dsa-combi-new02[1]](assets/img/new-dsa-combi-new02_1_.jpg)
Showing the questions by DSA category is particularly useful when trying to analyse the feedback provided by the DSA should you not pass the theory test first time because the DSA will tell you which of the categories of question you answered incorrectly. Unfortunately, they will not identify the individual questions answered wrongly only the categories they relate too.
Multiple Choice Learning programme 3 – Learner Driving Lessons
In this programme the questions can be presented to you in the same sequence as the driving lessons in the Learner Driving programme. The Learner Driving programme is a structured training system designed to teach people to drive. The questions have been restructured to tie in with the first 12 driving lessons of this 20 lesson programme. You would use this programme if you decided to combine your theory training with the early stages of your driving tuition.

Prior to each of the first 12 driving lessons you would refer to the correspondingly numbered theory lesson preparation study references and undertake the appropriate quiz . You would then attend the appropriate driving lesson and inform your instructor of any problems or queries you might have had while undertaking the study or answering the questions in preparation for that lesson. The theory covered for each driving lesson has been designed to help you with the practical lesson. For example, all the theory test questions relating to pedestrian crossings are covered prior to the driving lesson on pedestrian crossings and so on.
Multiple Choice Mock Tests - just like the real thing.
Once you have correctly answered all the Official questions, using any one or a combination of the above learning programmes it is time to move onto the final stage of your preparation for the test by using the mock theory test feature. This comprehensive mock test environment will help you to simulate actual test conditions - thus making sure that nothing is left to chance.

Each pre-set mock test is carefully balanced to reflect the real test and contains what we consider to be the most common questions used on the actual test (based on test candidates feed back). Many of the questions that appear in the Official databank are not actually used on the test. The problem is knowing which ones are not. The pre-set mock tests is our attempt to try to identify the 200 or so questions actually used. The random test is also properly balanced and provides virtually an unlimited number of tests for you to try. Unlike the real test you also get a comprehensive review section so that you can analyse which questions where answered correctly or incorrectly with references back to the three learning programmes. Any test question incorrectly answered will be fed back to the learning programme by turning the progress traffic light from green to red. Thus when you revisit the learning section of the product these questions are easily identified and accessed using the “skip correctly answered question” option.
Reading difficulties
If you have reading difficulties you simply need to click on any text on the screen in the mock test (or indeed the previous learning programmes quiz screens, the hint pop up screen or the help screens) and the program will read the information out to you (provided your PC supports sound).
2. The Hazard Perception test study programme
Detailed hazard perception test video tutorial and the new DSA hazard test introduction video clip to help you understand what a developing hazard is and how the test really works.

25 Hazard Perception practice learning clips. The product contains 7 practice clips on disk 1, 9 practice clips on disk 2 and 9 practice clips on the Hazard Perception Bonus disk to help you prepare for the 10 fully simulated Hazard Perception Tests.

10 realistic simulated Hazard Perception Tests. The product provides 10 carefully balanced unique Hazard Perception Tests (each with 14 clips) - just like the real thing. Two tests on disk 1, four on disk 2 and four on the Hazard Perception Bonus disk. Completing these simulated tests and the practice clips will help the program to discover your weakest clips and your readiness for the real test.

Random mock test facility giving you dozens of unique hazard test combinations. If you want to keep retesting yourself in a test environment use the random mock test facility. But be warned your score on each clip is being recorded by the computer and will overwrite your previous score. The random mock test facility uses both the practice test clips and the pre-set mock test clips on the disk inserted.

Unique review section showing you exactly where you clicked and where each section of the scoring window starts with the option to slow down or speed up the action. You can just play the scoring window or the whole clip again or from any point you like by using the drag bar time line. You can even get the program to pause on the start of each scoring window (i.e. 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1). And just to make sure you know exactly where you clicked a red flag appears on the time line and the mouse button on the screen flashes red and makes a click sound each time the play bar pointer crosses a flag when playing. A great learning tool.

Weakest clips league table to enable you to identify and be retested on those hazard clips where your score was insufficient to pass the test. Use this tool to focus on any final hazard clips where your score is still poor. The screen will also show you your average score so far and how many clips you scored 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 or 0 on. A great way to identify the types of hazards you have difficulty spotting.

Master Progress Screen. All this information is fed beck to the Master Progress report where there is a summary of both your multiple choice progress and your hazard perception progress. When you have scored 100% in all four sections shown you are virtually assured of theory test success.

Hazard Perception driving lesson
Finally, to help ensure that you can put all this hazard perception theory into practice we have provided a detailed lesson plan and set of notes for you to study prior to taking a hazard perception driving lesson. Remember the theory of hazard perception is of little use without the development of the skill for real.

Hazard Perception eXtra product option
At an extra cost you can also buy the Theory Test CD-Rom product with the additional 3 disks of the Hazard Perception eXtra product that increase the number of unique hazard clips from 165 to 350 and give you an additional 12 unique hazard tests to undertake making a total of 22 full hazard test simulations.
