After a recommendation from a friend, I undertook an LDC intensive course with Richard over the course of five days. Initially, the prospect of spending 30 hours in a car with one person in such a short space of time seemed fairly dull however, immediately after meeting Richard I was certain this would not be the case. As a driving instructor, Richard is patient, encouraging and assuring– giving his car an atmosphere that is always calm and relaxed. His ability to observe and identify your strengths and weaknesses as well as knowing when to push you to improve or help you correct a mistake gives a learner the confidence and self-assurance, they need to become safe and confident drivers. He was also extremely helpful in coming all the way to where I lived and flexible and reliable in planning lessons around my own schedule. On a more personal level, Richard is extremely outgoing and welcoming. He makes you feel at ease while you drive with his great sense of humour and personable nature. One of the things that struck me about Richard is his desire to see you do well and it was his confidence in my ability helped me to pass my test first time. Richard is an exceptional driving instructor and a great guy that I would recommend to anyone looking to enjoy learning to drive.
