Several different friends recommended Phil to me so when I was ready to learn to drive I decided to give him a ring. Phil was a fantastic teacher and I found him down to earth and efficient. He was always calm and encouraging and helped me feel confident, even when I first started learning to drive.

The way he taught manoeuvres and reversing was really helpful. I had heard of complicated methods from friends with other instructors so I was nervous but Phil broke it down to its simplest level and suggested I should reverse by feel. This really worked, and on the morning of my exam I noted to Phil how thankful I was that I felt confident no matter which manoeuvre came up in my test. I know that many of my friends have not felt like this after their lessons.

Another thing that I found really helpful was his use of two-hour lessons. This ensured that you got fully used to driving in your lesson so could learn and progress instead of just becoming used to the driving and having to finish. Two hour lessons also mean you have to concentrate for longer and this is useful for driving in the future as well as keeping your concentration for the half hour driving test.

Phil is also a really nice guy, easy to talk to and with a great sense of humour, so I always enjoyed my lessons with him.

I think his methods ensure that you have the greatest chance of passing your driving test. I passed first time with no 'minors' with his help so he must be a great teacher! Highly recommended.
