After having a bad experience with a previous instructor, I honestly wasn’t sure if I would ever be able to earn my drivers licence. I also struggled with anxiety and coordination at first due to being autistic. Hazel helped to put me at ease. She asked what I thought would work for me and tried different techniques to help me learn new skills. Having an instructor who opted for a more tailored approach was much better than having an instructor who only explained no taught things one way. The workbook was also really useful, with the diagrams in particular proving quite helpful. Hazel also suggested using a toy car to help me better understand hi the front and back wheels of a car should be positioned during manoeuvres, which helped with my coordination a lot. Hazel helped to build my confidence and I managed to pass my practical test on the first attempt! Learning how to drive has really helped me as it means I don’t have to rely on public transport to get to where I want to go and I have a bit more independence. It took me longer to learn how to drive than a lot of other people but once I found the right instructor I began to enjoy driving. Passing the practical exam was a big achievement for me and I couldn’t have done it without such a good and understanding instructor. I have already recommended Hazel to everyone I know who has expressed an interest in learning how to drive. Stephanie
