An ode to Sally. I didn't want to review and review again upon passing, but I passed today and this review is already overdue. I switched to Sally from another instructor elsewhere quite late in my learning journey. Sally is an absolutely wonderful instructor and person, and I wholly appreciated every aspect of her teaching methods. Sally likes the words "safe" and "effective", and teaches methods very clearly and very well. "Safe" and "effective" is exactly the sort of driving style I wanted post-today, and I've got it. Due to my uncommon journey, it felt as though I was learning one element each week in what was an intense 12 weeks-ish with Sally, and I'd take that away and put it into practice the following lesson whilst learning the next element. Effective observations, clutch control, my approach to junctions/roundabouts, hill starts and so on - I wasn't only taught these elements, I wholly understood the intricacies, the dangers and the "whys". What I'm trying to say is that Sally teaches in a way which has suited me and made complete sense at every turn. I hadn't left a single lesson with questions, but with considerations, and am still amazed by how some things work and how it all came together - but understand it wholly. I passed today in spite of nerves (that's my fault) with just one minor fault - I stalled on a slight hill. I'll be eternally grateful for the support, care, time and dedication Sally has had in helping me achieve this overdue milestone. I've had nothing but positive words for her when speaking to people I know, and I'll gladly be recommending her when I see people ask about instructors. A very special lady, and I appreciate you. Thank you Sally.
