Learning to drive with Rich has been one of the most positive and confidence-building experiences of my life. I will never forget it. began with absolutely no experience and a lot of nerves, but from the very first lesson, Rich made me feel completely safe. His calmness never wavered - not once - and that created an environment where I could learn without fear or pressure. I never felt in danger, never felt judged, and never felt like my anxiety was “too much” to handle. What truly sets Rich apart is how deeply he pays attention to you as a person. He notices the small things - your emotions, your reactions, your learning style - and adapts every lesson to match exactly what you need. His thoughtfulness, patience, and ability to understand how you’re feeling, even before you say it, is something rare. He doesn’t just teach driving; he teaches confidence, calmness, and perspective. He even managed to turn the thing I feared the most - roundabouts - into my favourite part of driving. That alone says everything for me. Rich has a brilliant sense of humor that makes those ‘scary’ moments feel manageable. He takes problems that feel huge in your mind and brings them back into perspective. His little tricks - like the “throw the pen in the back seat” method - genuinely helped me break out of anxious overthinking. He knows exactly how to lift your worries and replace them with confidence. Whenever I struggled, it never lasted long. Rich was grounding in moments of panic, always ready with reassurance, a calm explanation, or a pep talk that made everything click. He supported me through every challenge: confidence, clutch control, roundabouts, nerves, parking, awareness, decision-making - he had a clear, effective way of teaching every single skill. I felt safe, relaxed, motivated, confident, and encouraged in every single lesson. That’s not something you can fake - that’s who Rich is. And what stands out the most is that Rich doesn’t just want you to pass your test. He wants you to become a safe, confident driver for life. You can feel how much he cares. He wants your success just as much as you do - sometimes even more. Confidence isn’t something I naturally have a lot of, but with Rich, it was a completely different story. He helped me find a version of myself I didn’t know existed. I honestly cannot recommend him enough. Anyone who learns with Rich will come out of it a safe, capable driver with more confidence than they know what to do with. He goes above and beyond, never loses patience, explains everything clearly, and makes lessons something you genuinely look forward to. He turned something that once felt so out of reach into something more than achievable - and that is something I will always be grateful for. Rich is an incredible instructor, and an even more incredible person.
