Following our initial contact with Ian he arranged a home visit, introducing himself, whilst getting to know our daughter and us. Ian explained the LDC Driving Skills System and a little of his driving and personal background. Ian handed Jaz the LDC Workbook, her learning ‘bible’ and road map to success. This is also every parent or carer’s guide to giving our loved one the correct, most up to date advice, as we sit with them whilst practice and hone their skills between the lessons with Ian. I was worrying about giving the wrong guidance and costing my daughter repeated re-tests. I found it invaluable! Following lessons, Ian gave lots of feed back to Jaz, during and at the end of each lesson. He also took the time to provide additional feedback using a ‘closed group’ on WhatsApp, this was most helpful, clarifying areas to focus on during independent driving. No, Driving Lessons are not cheap! Anywhere! However, Ian provides a reduced price for booking in blocks. His lessons are at least two hours in length, reducing the time spent driving to and from pick-up and drop-off and therefore spending our hard-earned cash driving within the local Test Areas, whilst maximising the valuable and expensive time, often lost whilst our learner settles into the beginning of each drive and calm their nerves. Would I recommend Ian… Yes! He says it as it is! No flannel! No BS! Jaz PASSED FIRST TIME! Thank you very much Ian. From Jaz Thank you for your advice Ian will take it all on board and use for future decisions etc.. Thank you again for all you support and knowledge which had helped me get to where I am now.
From Ian the instructor. This pass was so very well deserved and exemplifies how private practice with a parent (include guardian/significant other/family friend) following up what was covered in lessons can develop someone who had never sat behind the wheel of a car to become a considerate and safe driver within a relatively short time. We had our 1st lesson end of February and Jaz passed on her 1st attempt mid June. The hours spent with John (dad) practising manoeuvres, roundabouts and junctions and all the topics that we covered in lessons played a significant part in raising Jaz's confidence and self belief. Not simply driving from A to B over and over again and becoming familiar with the same route to college/gym/work. I would take this opportunity for the benefit of any other parents who might read this to point out that learning to drive is not simply a rite of passage for a young adult who acquires their new provisional licence on reaching age 17. It requires a student to apply themselves to the task in hand, play an active part in lessons, ask questions if unsure of anything, utilise the free resources available (LDC Driving Skills Handbook/mock theory and hazard perception tests/online progress pages/video clips etc) and heed advice from their instructor which will lead them to solve challenges as they are presented rather than always ask 'what do I do now?' It was abundantly clear that Jaz utilised all the free resources that being a LDC student offers and achieved a thoroughly well deserved pass. I will miss the questions.

I'm a driving instructor in Callington, Gunnislake, Metherell, Tavistock and surrounding areas
