I began lessons with Laura at the grand old age of 34, having already had lessons whilst pregnant 5 years ago with a different instructor. I suffer with anxiety and was a very, very nervous driver. I'd previously failed 3 tests quite miserably and had been completely put off driving - my self confidence was at rock bottom - but I was determined to pass my test and not let it beat me. I have two young children so driving was an essential skill that I needed. Laura's firm but patient instruction and friendly, cheerful manner helped me have the faith that I could get back in the car and drive, and be a good driver, let alone pass my test. She focused on the positives rather than the negatives and tailored the lessons around me and my abilities - there was always a clear plan and focus for each lesson, it was as much a confidence building exercise as well as a driving lesson.

Getting nearer to the test Laura had pin-pointed my weaknesses and spent time working on those so that I felt more secure. Laura has helped me to believe in myself and given me a much needed hypothetical nudge to be able to get over my fear of driving with my children in the car as well as giving me faith in myself to be able to drive and to pass my test. A week on from passing my test and I still cannot get over the fact that I've actually done it! The major difference I found between Laura's teaching methods and my previous instructor was that Laura actually taught me driving skills, putting me in different scenarios and under different conditions which have given me the skills I need after passing my test rather than simply teaching me to drive specific routes just to be able to pass the test. Laura also uses a theory test package that was a brilliant tool for revising and practising mock tests for the theory exam. I passed my test on my 1st attempt with Laura and credit it entirely to her teaching methods and personality. Even my husband who has been driving for years has commented on how vastly improved my driving skills are in general compared to with my first instructor.

The car itself is an absolute dream to drive and I feel very privileged to have been one of Laura's students. She's a fabulous instructor and I would whole-heartedly recommend her. I shall miss our lessons - lots of laughs and setting the world to rights! Thank you so much Laura
