I have just completed a four month-long course with Bob Morton using the LDC client-centered approach to learning to drive. From my initial email through to test have found Bob to be a pleasure to interact work with and someone I trust immensely. He has a clear passion for his role which boosted my own self-confidence and aided with my overall progress. The LDC materials are excellent, as is the YouTube channel, and utilising these materials assisted in my training prior to my practical experience and thereafter. I would say however, that these materials would only be useful if the student is prepared to put some theory work into them by themselves. I also found the plans and progress charts a very good device to monitor progress within the course - sometimes to identify weaknesses (which needed more work) and sometime to execute topics quickly (if they were a strength). This was the case with my own course, that although I spent extra work on earlier parts of the process, in the mid-term I caught up quickly (extra clutch-control work - at the start – assisted with quick completion of maneuvers later). LDC are clearly not complacent as despite designing these materials they are refreshed recurrently based on new ways of learning and experiences with new students. The training car was a fantastic vehicle to drive which was always clean and tidy (I’d often find Bob cleaning the car!). I’ll miss that car as it took some ‘battering’ from me over the early part of my tuition. It’d be difficult for me to detail any specific favorite or least-favorite parts of my course as the favorite aspect was the overall achievement from being a novice driver to leaner driver to qualified driver (though I still class myself a learner – just a qualified one). The least-favorite part was my frustration when things went wrong but the materials (and Bob) helped with creating a contingency plan. Overall the experience was a positive one and one that I’ll never forget, as with the great man himself. I’m very grateful to Bob for his forbearance with me and for assisting me with a life-long goal. I have no hesitations in recommending Bob, if you want to learn from the best – Bob’s the man to see.
