Key and Critical workers

Here at LDC we have taken the decision to postpone all driving lessons (except for Key and Critical workers) and to abide by the Government guidelines during COVID-19.

A small number of LDC instructors are still teaching Key and Critical Workers only and while on lessons will be displaying a sign to say they are doing just that. If you are a Key Critical worker and are looking for driving lessons or an intensive course please call us on 0800 400 777 or request one of our information packs.

As a Key Critical worker you can apply for an emergency theory and driving test by following the steps set out by the DVSA. The details are as follows:

You can still get an emergency test while tests are suspended if your work is critical to the COVID-19 response, or you work in a critical sector. These include:

To book an emergency theory test

Email DVSA to ask for an emergency theory test.

You must send a photo or scanned image of valid ID such as your work ID badge.

If you do not have an ID badge you can send:

  • an email from a work email address
  • evidence from your employer, such as email or scanned document including company letterhead
  • a scan of your payslip
  • This is not an exhaustive list and evidence will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

You also need to tell them:
